For five years, The Catalyst Collective has connected young Black women with mentors who see their potential, understand their experiences and champion their next steps.
We began in December 2020 with a simple question: what if every Black girl had access to a mentor who truly understood her?
In January 2021, we launched our first pilot cohort with just six mentoring pairs. Today, we have made almost 400 mentoring matches.
Through mentoring, careers programmes and insight days, we create space for young Black women to build confidence, expand their horizons and access professional worlds they are too often rarely invited into. Our mentors are professional Black women who show up with care, honesty, wisdom and ambition, helping girls imagine more for themselves and move towards it with clarity.
At the heart of Catalyst is joy, authenticity and a supportive community of Black women learning from, challenging and uplifting one another.
As we celebrate our fifth birthday, we are raising funds to build the next five years of Catalyst, at least.
