What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit our website. They help us provide you with a better experience by remembering your preferences and understanding how you use our site.
Types of cookies we use
Necessary Cookies (always active — no consent required)
These cookies are essential for the website to function properly and cannot be switched off:
- laravel_session & XSRF-TOKEN (OneDonate) — keep you signed in and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Expire after your session.
- od_cookie_consent (OneDonate) — remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. Expires after 12 months.
- __stripe_mid & __stripe_sid (Stripe) — set by our payment provider for fraud prevention when you make a donation. See Stripe's cookie policy.
Marketing Cookies (only with your consent)
- _fbp and related cookies (Meta Platforms) — set by the Meta Pixel, which we use to measure how our campaigns reach people on Facebook and Instagram. These are only set if you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner. Expire after 3 months. See Meta's cookie policy.
We do not currently use any other analytics or advertising cookies.
How to manage cookies
You can control and manage cookies in various ways. Please note that removing or blocking cookies can impact your user experience and parts of our website may no longer be fully accessible.
Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit our website, you'll see a cookie consent banner where you can choose "Accept all" (essential + marketing cookies) or "Essential only" (no marketing cookies). Your choice is stored for 12 months. You can change your mind at any time using the "Manage cookies" link shown on our pages — withdrawing consent stops marketing cookies from being set from then on.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. However, if you limit the ability of websites to set cookies, you may worsen your overall user experience.
Third-party cookies
Two third parties may set cookies on our donation pages: Stripe (payment processing and fraud prevention — essential) and Meta Platforms (campaign measurement — only with your consent). We do not allow any other third party to set cookies through our website.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please check this page periodically for updates.
